Six Wickets For Record Breaking Ishaan

It was a momentous day in the National Cricket League (NCL) as fourteen year old sensation Ishaan Tanwar, a student at the City of London Boys School created history by finishing his Sunday League fixture with six wickets.

The Redbridge schoolboy was on red hot form and his record breaking haul included a hat trick against victors CPAM UK CC.

The CricActive stars figures for the Ruby Division game read 6 overs, 6 wickets for 31 runs.

The precocious teenager, a right arm medium pace bowler is straight off the production line at the renowned Wanstead Cricket Club where he plays for the Under 15s.

Tanwar’s club captain Mohit Gupta addressed the youngster in glowing terms after the game, “This is a star in the making. He is level headed, has a positive outlook and embraces the game in all formats. I’m calling on the community to stand up and support our proteges and to give youngsters like him the best chance of flourishing within the game.

“What an outstanding day and I know he will use this as a springboard to bigger and better achievements in the game.”

The NCL Co-founders Nahed Patel and Sajid Patel in there joint statement said, “We started the National Cricket League (NCL) in 2012 to give the community a platform where they can shine through the beautiful game of cricket and have the opportunities in making moments like these count.

“Alongside this we provide exposure to many performers and highlight the remarkable work delivered by our teams. We are fortunate in the NCL to have a growing talent pool of players as young as 14 years old and above.

“Well played Ishaan, we are sure to see more great things from him in future games and seasons ahead.”

The National Cricket League (NCL) is the largest Sunday Cricket Competition with 88 teams competing in 11 Divisions with fixtures played in North, South, West and East London, covering the Counties of Middlesex, Kent, Hertfordshire and Essex.
