Excitement is building ahead of the Freedom Cup 2026, a vibrant 7 a side football tournament set to take place on Sunday, 28th June at Mabley Green.
Organised under the banner of community, heritage, and sport, the event promises a powerful celebration of unity, inspired by the spirit of Bangladesh’s liberation.
Hosted by the Inner London Football League, the tournament will bring together players of all abilities across three categories: Open Age, Veterans 35+, and Veterans 50+.
With a 9:30am kick-off, teams will compete for victory, pride, connection, and a shared sense of purpose.
Set against an iconic East London backdrop, the Freedom Cup blends football with cultural recognition, honouring heroes while strengthening community bonds. The event reflects how sport can transcend generations, bringing people together through teamwork, respect, and shared identity.
With an entry fee of £180 per team, organisers anticipate strong participation and an electric atmosphere.
