New Leisure Service Opens Its Doors

On 7 May, local athletes, school pupils and community members joined the Mayor and councillors to officially open the doors to the new ‘Be Well’ leisure service.

The management of seven leisure centres in Tower Hamlets was brought in-house on 1 May 2024, following the expiration of our contract with GLL (Better).

The new service, Be Well, will focus on a holistic view of health and wellbeing, alongside increasing participation and access for residents with a focus on women and girls, older adults, and people at risk of, or living with, a long-term condition.
