The East End is set to enjoy a new sporting chapter as the Tower Hamlets Badminton Club launches its Kids Session for ages 10–16, beginning Saturday, 25th October 2025, at the Osmani Centre, 58 Underwood Road, E1 5AW.
The weekly sessions, running from 6pm to 7:30pm, promise to offer far more than just shuttlecocks and serves.
This exciting initiative combines sport, learning, and community spirit, encouraging young people to stay active while building teamwork, discipline, and friendships. In a borough rich with cultural diversity, badminton is providing a positive outlet for young residents to express themselves and develop confidence in a safe and welcoming environment.
Lead coach Jahangir Rahman, a qualified and experienced instructor, spoke passionately about the project: “Our aim is to give every child, regardless of background, the chance to thrive. Badminton is a sport that builds not just skill, but character. We want to nurture champions both on and off the court.”
Local families have praised the initiative for creating affordable, structured opportunities for youth engagement. With the Tower Hamlets Badminton Club continuing to expand its reach, this new programme is another example of how sport can unite, inspire, and uplift a community.
