Impressive Chatkhil have made it through to the Quarter Finals of the Bangladesh Sports Network UK Upazila Championships.
Despite a big knock from former Scintilla star Ashraful Islam (Johnny) Chatkhil succumbed to Habiganj in their first game.
Habiganj firepower was crucial in reaching 170/6 after 10 overs. Chatkhil battled valiantly to reach 156/7.
In the second game Komolganj reached 133/9 but Chatkhil needed 17 overs to win the game comfortably (134/3). Johnny and Maruf were the difference with 50 and 24 respectively.
In a nail biting final fixture Chatkhil scored a tidy 155 to beat Khulna and secure passage to the knockouts.
Ashraful Islam commented, “We are proud of our achievement and it has turned into a memorable day. We are an underrated team and we trust each other whether we are fielding or batting!”
