Chase the sun: runners set to light up Olympic Park this April

The iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is preparing to host a high octane evening of endurance as the “Chase The Sun” 5k and 10k series arrives on Wednesday, 15th April 2026.

The event, organised by RunThrough UK, will see athletes take to the tarmac at 7:00 PM, utilising the legendary South Park grounds. Known for its flat and fast terrain with a minimal elevation gain of just 3 meters, the course is perfectly primed for runners looking to clock new personal bests (PBs).

The Scouting Report:

• The Distance: Competitors can choose between a 2-lap 5k sprint or a 4-lap 10k test of stamina.

• The Venue: 5 Thornton St, London E20 2AD—the heart of London’s sporting legacy.

• Race Perks: Every finisher who crosses the line before the 8:30 PM cutoff will be awarded a unique themed medal, post-race goodies, and chip-timed results to verify their performance.

Entry fees are currently set at £26 for individual spots, while teams looking to dominate the field can secure a Group Booking of six places for £120.

With a full squad of marshals on hand to provide tactical encouragement and free race photos to capture the action, the atmosphere is expected to be electric.

Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or a newcomer to the circuit, this mid-week fixture offers the perfect opportunity to “chase the sun” and secure a victory under the London sky.
