Greater London’s Only 45+ Veterans Football League Set to Kick Off

The Inner London Football League, in partnership with GripActive, is proud to announce the launch of Greater London’s only dedicated 45+ Veterans Football League, offering a unique and inclusive platform for older players to stay active, competitive, and connected.

The new league will officially begin on Wednesday 22 April 2026, bringing together experienced footballers from across the capital for weekly fixtures in a structured and welcoming environment.

All matches will take place at a single, accessible venue – Stepney Green Pitches, every Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, ensuring consistency, community spirit, and ease of participation.

This pioneering competition reflects the growing demand for age specific football opportunities, promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, and social engagement among players aged 45 and above. It also reinforces football’s lifelong appeal, proving the game remains vibrant well beyond traditional playing years.

League organiser Rashid Ali said the initiative is about more than just football: “It’s about keeping people active, connected, and inspired. This league creates a space where experience is celebrated, friendships are formed, and the love of the game continues.”

Players and teams are now invited to register, with limited spaces available for the inaugural season.
