Tower Hamlets is refreshing its Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, taking into consideration the Council’s strategic plan and the challenges faced regarding homelessness and rough sleeping in the borough.
The strategy will set out how, over the coming five years, the council will work to prevent homelessness and support those who face or are at risk of becoming homeless.
Tower Hamlets are consulting on the main priorities for the strategy:
Working with people earlier to prevent them from becoming homeless and to reduce the use of Temporary Accommodation.
Provide good quality accommodation for people who are at risk of, or where they become, homeless.
Improve customer service and the individual’s experience.
Making sure that people have access to the right support services.
To try to prevent rough sleeping but where it does occur, it’s rare, brief and doesn’t happen again.
Boost staff resilience and well-being.
The feedback will be used to prepare a final version of the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy for the Council to approve at Cabinet.
The consultation closes on Friday 26 April 2024.
