The Bangladesh Upazila Cricket Championship 2025 (UK) reached a thrilling conclusion at the iconic Seven Kings Park, as Sylhet Sadar powered their way to the trophy with a dominant victory over Moulvibazar Sadar in a final that delivered fireworks, flair, and a fitting climax to a sensational tournament.
Now in its latest edition, the Upazila Cup has grown into a prestigious celebration of Bangladeshi cricketing talent in the UK diaspora. Organised under the banner of the Bangladesh Sports Network (BSN), the tournament showcases pride, heritage, and sporting excellence through 16 fierce and friendly regional rivals representing their ancestral Upazilas.
In front of a buzzing crowd under clear summer skies, Sylhet Sadar left no doubt about their title credentials. Led by tactical brilliance and raw firepower, the team stormed to victory in the final, producing a disciplined bowling display and a calculated chase that underlined their status as the tournament’s standout performers.
Their journey to the final was nothing short of dominant, with standout performances in the group stage and knockout rounds. Captain AZM Johnny and ace bowler Mohammes Enamul Haque were key figures, consistently delivering match winning contributions.
Sylhet Sadar’s manager Maruf Hasan was visibly proud, saying: “It’s been an incredible journey. The unity, the discipline, the hunger – our players left everything on the pitch. This title is for our supporters and for Sylhet. We’re coming back next year even stronger!”
Sayfur Rahman, the event co-ordinator of the Bangladesh Upazila Cricket Championship 2025, shared heartfelt reflections after the final: “What an amazing celebration of cricket, culture, and community. This tournament is about identity, unity, and pride. Every player, volunteer, and supporter helped make this a historic year. Congratulations to Sylhet Sadar and thank you to every Upazila team that made this event so special.”
This year’s edition featured 16 passionate teams, each representing their Upazila with honour and intensity. The full roster of participants included:

Across 33 competitive matches, fans were treated to incredible stroke play, flying catches, and edge of your seat finishes. It was a carnival of cricket and a vibrant display of sporting skill mixed with cultural pride.
A statement on behalf of the organising committee, reserved a massive thanks to all participating teams, supporters, families, and well wishers: “The spirit of friendship, both on and off the field, was truly moving and credit to the entire community.
“A special salute goes to the umpires for their professionalism and fairness throughout the tournament, and to London Eagles Cricket Club for their unwavering support. Most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time, energy, and passion simply for the love of the game. Without them, this celebration of cricket would not have been possible.”
While this year was a resounding success, the organising committee remains committed to growth and improvement. “We know there’s always room to be better,” said chairman Jakir Ahmed. “So we ask for your feedback, your ideas, and your continued support. Let’s make 2026 even bigger and better.”
As the sun set on another unforgettable Upazila Cup, one thing is clear: the flame of Bangladeshi cricket in the UK burns brighter than ever.
