A landmark celebration of sport, culture and community spirit is set to take place on Sunday 14 June 2026 as UKBC and Luton Elite Badminton proudly host the first ever Woolfe & Co Greater Sylhet Upazilla Badminton Tournament at Luton Inspire Village, LU2 8DD.
The event promises a vibrant atmosphere bringing together players, supporters and families connected to the Greater Sylhet regions of Sonamgonj, Sylhet, Habigonj and Maulvibazar.
The tournament has already generated huge excitement across the community, not only because of the competitive action on court, but because of what the event represents; unity, identity and opportunity through sport.
A top prize of £2000 awaits the champions, while the runners-up will receive £1000, adding further prestige to what organisers hope will become a flagship annual sporting event.
Principal sponsors Woolfe & Co Solicitors have thrown their support behind the initiative, helping organisers create a memorable occasion designed to inspire the next generation and strengthen community bonds.
Organisers described the tournament as a celebration of heritage, teamwork and positive engagement, giving people of all ages a platform to connect through healthy competition and shared pride.
A statement from the organisers read: “Sport has the power to unite communities, break barriers and inspire futures. This tournament is about creating legacy, building friendships and giving the community something positive to believe in.”
The event is expected to attract players and guests from across the UK, with community leaders, supporters and badminton enthusiasts all set to attend this historic occasion in Luton.
Warm anticipation is building for what promises to be a memorable and uplifting day celebrating excellence, participation and the enduring power of grassroots sport.
