Played in a carnival atmosphere, the tournament brought together football, heritage and community, reflecting the rich history of Beanibazar and the strong links maintained by its diaspora across the world.
Fanfare, happiness, unity and enjoyment were evident throughout a memorable day.
Muria Union and Mathiura Sporting Club emerged as the standout teams of the competition, producing consistently impressive performances before meeting in a tense final.
The experience of Beanibazar football legends Abdul Wahid and Shah Mashud was the fulcrum and collective heartbeat of a talented Mathiura side, helping dictate the pace while encouraging the next generation to flourish with confidence.
The youngsters responded with energy, composure and ambition, underlining the value of football as a platform for developing future community leaders.
The final was tight, competitive and entertaining, with both sides creating moments but neither able to break the deadlock during normal play. The match ultimately went to penalties, where Mathiura held their nerve to win 6-5 in sudden death and spark jubilant celebrations.
Mathiura managers Abdul Wahid and Shahid Uddin said: “We are extremely proud of the players. This trophy is about representing Mathiura, respecting our opponents and bringing our community together. The players showed tremendous character throughout the tournament and we thank everyone who supported us.”

The BSF Union Cup 2026 ended with a deserved celebration for Mathiura, but its wider success belonged to the entire Beanibazar community.
On the pitch, football provided the competition; beyond it, heritage, friendship, generosity and unity provided the lasting legacy.
Despite the focus on the players the Beanibazar Sporting Foundation organised a penalty shootout competition for all the children who attended with medals handed out to all youngsters who took part.
The jubilant smiles in the faces of all the children led many to proclaim this as the true highlight of the day.
