The community is set to step out from Ponders End to East London Mosque for a charity walk.
Ponders End Islamic Centre (PEIC) is calling on the local community and supporters across the capital to lace up their walking boots for the inaugural Masjid 2 Masjid (M2M) Charity Walk, taking place on Saturday 31st January 2026. The journey will begin at PEIC, concluding at East London Mosque later that morning.
The walk aims to raise vital funds to clear PEIC’s outstanding debts, ensuring the centre can continue serving its growing congregation and delivering community services including classes, youth programmes, and welfare support.
The campaign’s motto – “Walk with Purpose. Give with Sincerity,” underscores the dual significance of the initiative: every stride taken is considered charity.
“Our centre is a cornerstone of life in Ponders End, but mounting debts threaten our ability to maintain and expand our work,” said a PEIC spokesperson.
“This walk is about bringing communities together – from our home in Enfield to the heart of East London, to safeguard a space where we can flourish for generations to come.”
Participants can sign up to join the walk or support the cause through donations. All funds raised will go directly towards eliminating PEIC’s financial obligations.
