Royal Tigers Cricket Club have become champions of the first UK Bangladesh T10 cricket tournament.
Seven Kings Park played host to ten teams with each squad delivering quality cricket over the course of the day.
With the community and travelling supporters turning up to enjoy a feast of cricket, proceedings ended with a gripping final featuring Roding Valley and Royal Tigers.
Royal Tigers saw off ABM Moulvibazar in the last four before defeating Roding Valley by 19 runs in the final.
After receiving the trophy from Jakir Ahmed, Secretary of Osmaninagar Sporing Association, Tigers captain Muhibur Rahman Jony thanked volunteers, management and guests for a memorable day, “We end the season with a special trophy and proud to be crowned champions of this prestigious community tournament.
“Our commiserations go to Roding Valley, who were tough opponents throughout. Thank you London Eagles Cricket Club for organising and managing a great day – We are looking forward to defending our crown in the next one.”
Speaking after the tournament Sayfur Rahman, Salman Ahmed and Habibur Rahman Shiplu commented, “We expected this to be a good day, but it turned out to be a great one.
“Thank you to our friends and sponsors for the love shown and their confidence and backing which was crucial- We promise to improve and build on the success, unity and energy of a memorable day.”
