A groundbreaking celebration of community, faith and sport arrives this spring as the inaugural London Masjid Cup brings together mosques and Muslim community organisations from across the capital for a unique day of football and unity.
Taking place on Saturday 25th April 2026 at Merky FC HQ, Dagnall Park, the tournament is delivered through a powerful collaboration between the Omar Foundation and Streatham Hill Mosque, uniting teams under the shared banner of faith, identity and positive engagement.
Representatives from a diverse range of institutions will take part, including Norbury Muslim Centre, Purley Masjid, JSMCC, Bismillah Centre, Muslim Cultural & Welfare Association of Sutton, Balham Masjid, Tooting Islamic Centre, Zidna Foundation, Penge Mosque, Al Hidaya Croydon, and Morden Islamic Community Centre.
The London Masjid Cup is designed to strengthen bonds between communities, promote wellbeing through sport, and create a platform for young people to connect, compete and thrive in a positive environment.
With football acting as the common language, the event reflects the spirit of unity and shared purpose that runs deep within London’s diverse communities.
Spectators can expect an energetic and family friendly atmosphere, with teams competing in the spirit of respect and sportsmanship.
Organisers hope this will be the first of many such events, setting a legacy for future generations; “This football event is about bringing communities together, strengthening ties and celebrating who we are through something we all love.
“The London Masjid Cup is a reminder that unity, faith and positive action can create something truly special for everyone involved.”
